I dont know what their punter's average is but I heard it isn't that great.

Bama is still claiming that they're the best. But to be a complete team you must include special teams. :rolleye33:

LSU had 5 opportunities to score.

    LSU ending field position:

    1 - Alabama 42
    2 - Interception
3 - Alabama 39 - LSU committed 5 yard penalty on last series of downs
    4 - Alabama 1 (FG)
    5 - LSU 30
    6 - Interception
7 - Alabama 38 - LSU committed 5 yard penalty on this last series of downs
    8 - Alabama 13 (FG)
    9 - LSU 9
    10 - LSU 45

LSU had 2 senseless penalties that put us in 1st and 15 situations that started inside the Bama 35 yard line. LSU most certainly would have played it conservatively and gotten inside Bama's 31/32 yard line (and probably closer than that) to set up for a FG. We all know how money Alleman is. Those penalties changed the complexion of those series of downs. Took us out of our comfortable element of what we do best.

I think the Bama coaches were outcoached starting with that first FG try.

My recollection (without watching the game again; someone please correct me if I'm wrong) is that Bama comes out for the first try and LSU! had two safeties about 10 yards off the ball. I thought it was setting up to be a fake and Bama calls a TO before the kick.

I believe the Bama thinking during that TO was that  had sniffed out the fake and to punt the ball away would be admitting that. So, boom goes the FG try.

The next FG try -- in about the same spot -- was to show that Bama never was thinking fake on the first one.

So now they've missed two and the third -- with a new kicker -- was sheer desperation.

The game turned, I think, on that first Bama timeout.

I think it's hard to justify punting from the 32 and 33 yard line (the 2nd and 3rd misses). They certainly could not punt from the 26, so they had to try the 44 yarder (the first one he missed).

And based on what transpired and the long down and distance they faced, they didn't feel comfortable going for it on 4th down.

The bigger and more important question is how does an elite program have such a shaky kicking situation? How do you arrive at that point? Do you think you'll never need to kick a game winning FG? Just blow everybody out? What's the thinking here? It baffles the mind.

Well we got inside the 10 yard line twice, they never did get near the 10 yard line, all of our field goals were shorter than theirs I believe.
I love the fact that they have minus 12 yards inside the 30.

This was what I took from his silly show yesterday as well. Though I was surprised his stance concerning the interception, kick hitting wire, ect. were in line with the official calls, he always reiterated Bama is still a better team and that they beat themselves out of the win. The ******* will never give CLM any respect and that should have at least been done yesterday.

Bottom line PF is arrogant, conceded, jerk Bama homer. He is nauseating to listen to and I cannot understand why Sirrius gave him a show in the first place.

As for his regular callers concerning the game, three words.

RATINGS, I think its good that they feel the way they do. It just means that game will haunt them probably forever. Alabama had an extra Halloween night this year, Trick or Treat!:hihi::grin:
Also remember Nick Saban is 0-3 vs CLM after a bye week, that should do the trick to these Gumps.
