Do Liberals have more in common with the Tea Partiers than they would like to admit?

    Interesting column in the WSJ.:

Daniel Henninger: The Liberal Dilemma - WSJ.com

Public Sector Unions have managed to create gold plated pensions at the expense of the tax payer. Now that it's causing a divide within the Democratic Party, it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

YES!!! We do. As a matter of fact i have said it before and i will say it again, if Palin and Beck weren't the face of the TPM, alot of people would join. Good topic.

To be sure. Also, it's been difficult to take the tea party seriously since they didn't start their hooting and hollering until a democratic president took office. All of the things that they've been protesting about the current administration were just as rampant under the previous regime. Where was their outrage then? They've self-polarized, and inclusion will never be their forte'.

I think you are a bit off here. Their vocality really stepped up after TARP. They were highly critical of Bush especially near the end of his term.

Beck is not the "face" of the TPM. And your observation is ludicrous. A lot of people have "joined", just not the faggot liberals you hang around with.

PS: This thread needed a conservative viewpoint because it was turning into a liberal circle jerk.

Yeah Beck is just a conspiracy promoting ogre who doesn't know what the following things mean: communist, socialist, fascist. He just uses them interchangeably in place of totalitarian.

He is much too dumb to be the face of anything.

Hannity is much closer to being the face of the Tea Party, but they shouldn’t claim him either because he is a liar. He is an even worse liar than Beck because he is smart enough to know the things he is saying are lies.

Well, I never heard of them before Obama took office, which means they simply weren't as visible. They weren't holding their million-man marches and trying to ramp up anti-incumbent sentiment the way they are now. Besides, why did they wait until the end of Bush's term? He blew billions and billions of taxpayer dollars and thumbed his nose at the constitution throughout his terms, not just near the end.

To me, it's pretty transparent. They are nothing more than neocons who are trying desperately to disassociate themselves with that very group. But that will never happen as long as people like Palin, Beck, and Hannity are their voices. Oh, and the fact that Fox News so tirelessly promotes/organizes their rallies certainly does them no favors. No one is fooled by their claims of non-partisanship and independence.

i've listened to hannity quite a few times. he's not that smart. id bet beck was way smarter just by default but beck is a miserable dude i think.

hannity just repeats what mark levin says in a much more condensed, dumbed-down version.

although hannity is way more likable than all of them by a large margin.

i listen to all these dudes on my phone sometimes. merely by chance when looking for podcasts.

I think that means I am a fox news listener.

that list includes michael savage, alan colmes (is this fox too? i hate this dude), npr, bloomberg and bbc.
