I knew he came into football late, but what I am speaking about are instincts. Instinctual behavior doesn't have to be taught. You can watch little kids on the playground and some have it and some don't. No one should have to show you more than once, if at all how to take the correct angle to the ball, how to fill the open hole in the line to meet the ball carrier, etc. The game, especially on a high school level, isn't that complicated on defense. All you have to do is react and be aggressive usually, and he is raw right now. If LSU puts him at LB where he has different reads, drops into coverage, blitzes, etc., depending on what defense is called every play, his head will be swimming. His height factors into lateral quickness and change of direction while maintaining a low pad level while tackling. That is partially why LB's his height are the exception and not the rule.

Now perhaps he can be great at Center, for example, but we didn't get a chance to see him play that position. He is a little undersized right now and really isn't very muscular, but very aggressive with a great motor. You will like the kid for the effort he gives.

Most obvious are agility problems, one of the most important aspects for a LB, lateral speed. Also, being 6'5-6'6, hes going to have a lot trouble adjusting his tackling technique, especially against smaller RBs. Its going to be hard for him to get off a block, then get low on a 5'10 RB to make the sure tackle. Obviously their is exceptions to the rule but their isn't many of them... A tweener role I could definitely see him in, something similar to a 3-4.

It's annoying how good their class is going to be...back to back..Saban tearing it up.. He never did this well at LSU..or did he? He had one #1 class and a I think a number 3, a 7, and like a 10...
