Aslong as he has his stuff together which I'm sure besides grades was a personality issue, I am fine with him being in this class, in fact more like excited for him to be in this class.

I just don't see the need for him if we get Montgomery...

True, who would you rather have? I always like to take a instate kid, but Montgomery's potential is out of the roof, plus isnt sentimore a DT? I think we have enough DT's in this class already.

    Re: Darrington Sentimore

Now that LSU has finally come to the conclusion that Downs has to play DT, that leaves out Sentimore.

There was debate early on in the process about Sentimore's ability to possibly play DE, but if we get Montgomery, Sentimore is out. Cparso has that right.

Sentimore is a much better fit in a 3-4 imo. Great athlete, but sort of a tweener for us.

The surprise commit of Hicks is the biggest reason we probably won't take
    Sentimore.

Eh, I don't know if Hicks necessarily means Sentimore is left out. Hicks is only around for 2 years..you redshirt Darrington, and he's been in the system going on 3 years by the time you might actually need him to play a role in your defense.

You can never have enough D-Lineman if you ask me. They get nicked up a lot and it's always good to have a deep rotation to keep them fresh.

Downs might be moved to Center regardless. We have virtually no depth there next year and T-Bob is coming off a ACL who will be a big question mark to begin with. Didn't he say LSU was recruiting him as a Center to begin with? You gotta have at least 2 Centers on the roster. I'm sure someone will convert but I believe they'll have at least 3 Centers due to T-Bob's injury. Hicks is basically a non-factor, IMO. He will only be here 2 years.

Lonergan stands a good shot at actually starting at center next season. T-Bob would back up most likely. There was talk about whether Hitt would move to Center, but I don't think that will be the case. So you have your 2 deep that will be there for 3 years, and Hitt provides a 3rd option should there be injuries. That's usually how deep you wanna be at center on a yearly basis.

Downs will not be wasted at center.

    Dandydon today:

In other recruiting news, I ran into Darrington Sentimore at Saint Thomas More high school Thursday afternoon. Sentimore was practicing with his team for Saturday afternoon's Sportsman Bowl to be played at STM. I asked Sentimore if he had recently heard from LSU and he told me that LSU running back coach Larry Porter was in his home Tuesday night and had a great visit. As I was talking to Sentimore he had to join his team on the field. I plan on calling Sentimore in day or two for more information. Stay tuned as this could become very interesting.
