. You agree with.the OP, "Mangas was nothing compared to him"? Or was the OP's post a pretty dumb statement to begin with?
My question was/is. of what significance is this post of your? " Except Mangas was employed in 2019 & helped LSU win a NC. Linehan was unemployed in 2019."
Mangas is proven with a NC ring. Far from a "Nothing". Linehan is a hopeful newbie at LSU, pulled from unemployment.
Good Lord, man. The old saying that "There are two types of coaches... Those who are fired, and those who will be fired" is true. Bill Billicheck was fired; Les Miles was fired. That, in and of itself, means nothing. I have no idea if Lindham will prove to be a good hire or not, and nether do you. I do know that he was fired by Jerry Jones means nothing. I also know that Mangas was an analyst... not a position coach, not an OC. I have no doubt that he contributed to the team's success, but, he had no authority and, I imagine, limited influence.
You are in a very small minority, tiny, that think Mangas had little influence considering he was just picked by Joe Brady for help implementing his Offense with the Panthers. BTW, I'm not against Linehan. I do think it's an odd hire tho, considering the Offense Brady brought.
He was an analyst. I'm sure he made a contribution. I would even have preferred that he had remained at LSU. However, I doubt that anyone goes into the coaching profession with the intention of remaining an analyst. Evidently, your two BOS guys that were responsible for bringing in Brady didn't think Mangas should be the passing game coordinator, or that is what would have been done, just as they did with finding and hiring Brady with little or no input from O.
How was LSU supposed to retain him, given the money he's now making in his new role? He's probably make at least double of what the highest paid analyst makes. Probably more. You can't justify that type of money keeping him as an analyst and all coaching spots are filled so there's not a lot they can do.
