    Anyone have a clue?

Question: Why did Searels leave in the first place? $$$ or other.

We're recruiting several OL this year and this really matters.

Will LSU hit the Pro ranks for it's next OL coach?

Who is worth a look in the College Ranks. Who can LSU "steal"?

All this coaching "musical chairs", recruiting and coaching madness.

One word sums it all. Cutthroat! Wait, that's two words. I need a drink.

    From DandyDon:

As for who will replace Searels, I do not know, but I was told that from reliable sources that Chris Scelfo, who was fired at Tulane a few weeks ago, was interviewed Saturday afternoon for the job. Scelfo's background is coaching the offensive line.

I am not too sure about that one.

This may help he also said this:

As for Jimbo Fisher, there is no late-breaking news to report except that he no longer has an offer to become the offensive coordinator at FSU. It appears that FSU became tired of waiting for Fisher to make a decision and removed the offer. I believe there is a good chance that Fisher will return to LSU. :hihi:

Who cares? Really. Miles is a former offensive lineman and just like Saban spent the majority of his time with the DB's in practice, Miles does the same thing with the O-line.

I have complete faith that any and all O-linemen we have committed, or thinking of coming to LSU won't not come here because Searles left.

Miles & Searles didn't agree on Oline philosophies. Searles prefered the zone blocking, Miles didn't. Miles also doesn't agree with Jimbo's offensive philosophy - Jimbo wants to take small chunks with swing passes etc, Miles wants to throw it downfield. These guys leaving (assuming Jimbo does so some time soon) is natural and lets Miles get his own guys in here.

Also, Searles is from Georgia and I heard his father passed away and his mom was living there alone.

The O-line's inability to create holes for the running back was definately a problem, but I am not completely sure that was all Searels' fault. Opponents, especially during the first half of the season, were stacking the line with 7 and 8 defenders. It's hard to run against that regardless of who you have as a offensive line coach. It will certainly be interesting to see who Miles hires as a replacement. Don't know if I would want someone who was recently fired by Tulane. Keep looking Miles.
