Either one of two things has or will happen. Either jj has gotten into lee's head and he will struggle. Just as in the Kentucky game, he will struggle. The offense will feed off of this bad mo- Jo and we will ( maybe have) revert back to last years offense with jj and jl swapping back and forth and bad offensive karma dominating our play.
OR Lee will come out and play strong. He will complete passes and give the offense the leadership it needs. He will cement his role as starter.
The bad karma results in dropped passes and uninspired play. We either get that swagger on offense back or we will stumble by on offense and hope the defense steps up. Either way honey badger don't give a chit. He's gonna get his.

Trust me, there is nothing I want to see more than Lee emerge and seperate himself from JJ as the better QB. Then continue on to become a serious offensive threat and take LSU's passing game another step up.

BUT, I think if Lee were good enough to do that, it would have happened a long time ago.

In the mean time, I am NOT happy about a 2 QB system, but I will roll with whatever happens.

Lastly, If JJ is the better option, he should get the start, and get the start NOW.

i am almost looking forward to next year so all of this JL/JJ **** can get put to bed.

Hopefully it isnt sparked back up with Mett & Randall :bncry:

I understand your point, I just don't think that now is the time to find out IF JJ is better. What IF finding out IF JJ has improved costs LSU a game, to me that is a bigger travesty than losing a game with an proven improved QB.

Further, I think JL showed improvement last year, and he was the QB the coaches put in the game when LSU needed to score late in close games. JJ did not, in my opinion, show improvement from his sophomore season to his junior season. Could he be improved, yes, but I think the chances of him being an improved QB took a big hit when he was suspended and not practicing for more than a month. Neither are the perfect QB, I just think JL has proven he can lead LSU to the ultimate goal, I cant say the say for JJ.

But I definitely agree that this entire discussion is frustrating and detracting from what is and will continue to be a special season.

You are absolutely 100% correct that JJ did not show improvement from Soph to Junior seasons. He has been one of the most inconsistent QB's in LSU history.

I'll agree with your point on leaving Lee in rather than chancing JJ. I think what most of this really boils down to is that Lee didn’t have a very good game last Saturday. I have said before, hopefully that was a bad game for Lee and that’s as bad as it gets. Lee was getting better each week and then Saturday struck and now to some "all is lost"

I think that CLM is doing the right thing in giving Lee the starting job and giving Lee the opportunity to go out on the field Saturday against Florida and prove any doubters(me included) why he is the #1 option for LSU. Lee can’t ask for anything more from his coaching staff, team, and fans.

If Lee has a consistent game Saturday (A Moo U or WVU type game) most people on the fence right now will fall off. And get right back where they were behind Lee moving forward as our starter.

There is not a doubt in my mind that after what this kid(Lee) has gone through as a LSU Tiger, he can weather this storm just as easily. (If one even exist)

I hate the 2 QB system, as a game plan. But I don’t mind if JJ comes in for a special situation to use his legs, because even though it was only 3 carries, you have to admit, it was a thing of beauty.

But for now, and forever, I'll stand by CLM and trust his coaching decisions. And do everything in my power not to let this whole ordeal ruin this experience and this special season for me as a fan

We got two senior quarterbacks who can play and have experience. They both need to play and get better, a starter and a backup, like always. If Lee goes down, I want Jefferson to be ready. I want an option quarterback in the mix to complicate the planning of our opponent's defensive coordinators every week. I want Mettenberger to get 4th-quarter mop-up work to get familiar with SEC defenses and the speed of the game.

LSU is the number-one ranked team in the country with a schedule that guarantees a slot in the National Championship game in New Orleans. We could have lots worse problems than an abundance of capable quarterbacks.

"My personal goal is to be the starter. I am going to do whatever it takes to get there." That's fine with me. He isn't expecting to get it handed to him. He's going to do whatever it takes . . . which is out-performing Lee.

"I can't imagine anybody in the country going through more than I did." OK, that was a dumb statement. There are some football players in Tuscaloosa who lost friends and homes in the tornadoes. You can bet that statement is going up on lockers.

I don't think some of you are grasping how the rest of the country is viewing this interview. Everything with JJ seems to be me, my, I, etc. He could've said..."I'm sorry I let my team and the fans down. I am going to do whatever is asked of me to help this team win the NC." That would have been a good thing to say.

And the "no one in the country has been thru how much he's been thru" comment....JUST DUMB.

My twitter feed was burning up with other team's fans blowing on this guy. Let him carry a clipboard, give his mom a rose on Sr day, and come in and run for 1st downs on 4th and short...but get the microphone away from him...for his own good.
