JJ is not entitled to be the starter. That's just a fact of life. I do hope JJ gets a chance to show his improvement, and gets significant snaps, and based on what Miles has said, I think JJ will get significant snaps. But if Lee continues to play well, and grow, JJ will not be the starter this year. Like many have said, including me, performance on the practice field is no substitute for successful performance on the Game Field. It all goes back to the start ... JJ is not by default entitled to be the starter ... no more than Lee would have been entitled to be the starter when he returned in 2009.
It matters jack squat what you or anyone on here or anywhere in tiger nation think because Miles is going to do what he thinks is best.. This has nothing to do with being entitled, it has everything to do with who Miles believes gives the team the best chances of winning. I'm not sure if you've watched LSU football the past two years, JJ being the starter has nothing to do with practice, it has everything to do with Miles belief that he gave the team the best chance of winning.. When JJ was reinstated the majority of people here talked about how he wouldn't play at least till the following week and maybe longer.. Has anyone not learned anything from watching how Miles coaches here?
which is why it might also be lee. that it will be jj is just your opinion. because yes, miles is gonna do what he thinks is best for the team and gives the team the best chance of winning.
You will not see an improved deep to intermediate threat from JJ. At least i did not at MPA. His footwork and quickness getting the ball out was improved but his long ball was badly overthrown and off the mark and that was trying to hit a big ass golf cart with no defender.
What has everybody stirred is that Lee this year, has been the best looking QB for LSU in the past 3 seasons. He looks a hell of a lot better than JJ dis last year. That Doesn't mean we are a legit passing threat. We are just better than we have been. I understand those that just want to stick with what we have. I understand why. I also understand those that wonder if Krags has helped JJ make the same improvements and want to see. Especially because he CAN use his legs as well. Only one thing is certain, Miles will decide who he wants taking snaps. I'll pull for either, I'll never knock the other, because I don't honestly believe at this point either is better than the other. We have two subpar senior QB's. It seems as if "every dog has his day" is in full swing with these two. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=30.070330,-95.535071
I had thought that it was the truck driver with the broken neck, not lowery. Someone asked did someone think jj was wronged. I don't know if he did the kicking or not. I'm not on a high horse. My problem with him has nothing at all to do with the fight and everything to do with his play last year and my feelings that after the Florida game lee should have started. Also with the constant talk about how he has improved when be wasn't throwing any td passes. One thing no one is saying is that someone did kick the dude. It didn't look like jj in the vid I saw. If it was the truck driver like I think it was, not lowery the marine reservist, that fractured vertebra is going to dominate his life from now on. I broke my neck. The disc are ruptured. The arthritis is set in it and it makes working a living hell. Someone kicked this young man and broke his neck and it will be disasterous for him the rest of his life. The lowery dude looks to be a prick. He probably deserved an asz whipping. I don't know enough the dude in the truck to say anything about him except that I think he's the one with the broke neck. Someone hurt him bad. I don't think jj did it but someone did and has all but destroyed his health. Anyone with ruptured disc would know just how bad that hurts
Well, to be honest ... I don't know the facts. I do know that the "evidence" was insufficient to indict JJ on the Felony Charge, and I suspect, to save face, the GJ handed down the misdemeanor. At the same time, apparently JJ was involved to some extent, otherwise the charges would have been dropped all together, as was done for Johns. But ... at the outset, it was the Felony accusation that got him suspended. It was the Felony accusaiton that put him in the news .. and it was the Felony accusation combined with a suprisingly better than expected performing Lee that cost him his starting position. That had to be hard on the kid from a "life" perspective. I mean, screw football, his odds of landing the MM contract in the NFL was pretty slim to begin with. So ... what I meant, is .. I wish none of it would have ever happened, to spare him from the "life experience" of it all ... ... but I honestly can't say that I'm disappointed from a football point of view ... but then, as LSU-4-LIFE has stated ... we may never know if JJ had improved or not. But I will say, Lee is performing better than JJ did last year through the first five games. .... the future is yet to see.
Lee needs to buckle his chinstrap and tighten up. I think he will... As for JJ, he needs to do whatever's asked of him, and keep quiet. And yes, I think he was wronged. He got a very raw deal, and how anyone could think otherwise without some sort of inside knowledge is beyond me.
