In this new scheme and system JL has shown he is a good (not better)manager. Better than JJ would be? Well, we would need to compare apples to apples and unfortunately we can’t.

We all agree on one thing and that was that neither JJ or JL could operate under crowtons system.

I am PRO-Starting QB. QB's will come & go but LSU will always be here

yes and josh booty allegedly beat out a dude named rohan davey during practice. but it was clear to anyone with the gift of vision, that rohan was light years the better qb.

its ok to have a position on an issue yet later see a different perspective.

Exactly and what I, in my own way, was attempting to say above.

Absolutely, and if the opportunity ever comes that we get to see JJ in game action, and he tanks. I'll have absolutely NO problems admitting Lee was better. I just want to see it first.

I am a diehard LSU fan and if believing in lost causes makes me a homer or idiot or whatever, then so be it. But I feel I have a pretty good sense of football, I played it for 10 years, I love the hell out of it and before the whole bar fight took place I BELIEVED in JJ's improvement and that he could have a turnaround season.

I ALSO believed before the Oregon game in JL's improvement and that he could have a Cinderella story movie made after him.

I just want whomever gives LSU the best chance to win taking snaps, and do NOT want a 2 QB system. But I’ll take what we get, with a Beer and a Smile, win or lose!

For now, I am enjoying number one - GEAUX TIGERS!!!!

Let me clarify - When I say I want to see it, I do not wish to lose a game because we pulled Lee to "see" what JJ can do.

I'll die peacfully never knowing if JJ improved, and thats fine.

But before I'll ever knock him, I'll have to see it.

Bits .... this is EXACTLY the point I'm making to LSU-4-Life.

Yep .. I have no doubt ... JJ smoked Lee in practice. He did it in 2009, he did it again in 2010, and he did it again before this season.

BUT .. for 2009 and 2010, that smoking didn't translate to consistent performance on the field in GAMES.

... on the otherhand, Lee got smoked in practice .. .BUT .. given this opportunity to show what he can do in GAMES .. entire GAMES ... he's showed the opposite of what JJ has done the last two years. He's carried this team to 5-0, #1, with every game being won by at least 2 TDs. Last year, 3 of the 5-0 wins were by only one score.

No nail biters yet ... not to say their won't be. Heck .. we had nail biters last year too, as well as flat out losses.

I just want the team to win. I want them to look like they did in the first 4 games of this year .. in control .. confident! It's not like we played a bunch of lower rank teams, like Bama, Arky, et al., did. We beat Oregon, who's climbed back up to #9, as well as WVU .. who I think is still ranked. If JJ contributes to that controlled, confident look, then I think that is great. If Lee continues to contribute to that .. I think that is great too. I think we can all agree that the NFL is not going to be beating down the door for either of these guys ... even if we do win the :crystal:

If you are going to make comparisons, compare apples to apples. (New QB Coach, New OC, New Offensive Scheme)

You are going to give Lee all the credit for "No Nail Biters" You don’t think that "Possibly the BEST Defense" to ever come through this program has anything to do with us putting games away?

There is A LOT more to LSU being 5-0 & #1 than Jarrett Lee buddy - And you say I am living in a pipe dream??? WOW

All I know is that offensively we are averaging 38.0 points per game.
Defensively we are allowing 12.8 points per game.

To me it really doesn't matter what happens between those numbers because the only thing people remember is how many W and L you have.

Oh and for the record the two teams that are figured into those defensive numbers are Oregon at 52 PPG and WV at 40.4.

If it takes both QB to keep up these numbers I'm on board.:geaux:

Dude ... no need to get snippy. Yep ... a lot of things have changed.

We've got a great defense ... but we had a great defense last year as well ....... last years defense gave up less points in the first 4 games than this years has. .. including one less TD to WVU .. Devine and all.

No doubt, getting rid of Crowton could very well be the entire diffence.

But at the same time ... you also can't discount that fact that a game plan for JJ [running QB] is going to be different than one for a pro-style QB [Lee].

But HEY ... Les Miles just noted on the Van Pelt show that Jarrett Lee deserves to be rewarded for the fantastic job he has done. He will remain at the starting position. JJ will be worked in when his skill set is called for......

.... and I suspect, if JLee continues to perform at the level he has, he will remain the starting QB for the season. There is no substitute for performance in the GAME. .... and if he falls off ... JJ may well get the call .. and I don't think anyone will complain about it. ... except the Mett Fans who want him starting yesterday.

So, I suppose Miles now has a different perspective on Lee. My question is: does he still think JJ is better than JL NOW? He can only tell by inserting JJ in game situations; but it would be difficult for Miles to just switch over to JJ as the starter if JL continues to do well. He cannot afford to risk losing the game by changing starter QB without a damn good reason. Also, he cannot afford to do what he did with JJ last year keeping JJ in the game longer than necessary when he sucked.
