Same goes for JJ. If he were good enough to top JL's current performance, then he would have done it several time by now, being as he's been the starter for the last two years. I think you are in a pipe dream if you think Krags work on a little footwork with JJ has produced any improvement. JJ's problems aren't mechanical. I agree with RW ... either Jlee picks up against FL and shines .. or LSU's offense goes to Sheite. I don't see JJ adding a damn thing. ... at least nothing that benefits the team. Even his little goal line stint of last week could have easily been accomplished by the RBs.
Am I the only person who doesn't think the #1 team in the nation that has blasted top tier teams away from home isn't doomed with J Lee as the starter? Leave JJ as the mop up/short yardage guy. We don't have a problem here if we can get JJ to get away from the microphone and quit playing the "victim" role all the time.
This. But you know it will. It's the way things are in the fan base, unfortunately, and those that see fit to argue about it and to try to prove who is 'rightest'. Peace.
It all goes down to mindset. Prostyle vs Running QB. Even Cam Newton went more pro-style towards the end of last season. Flynn, McElroy, Tebo, ... all these guys let the RB's do the running. Lee is more prostyle. Everyone who keeps saying JJ's situation is unfair, forgets that Lee was the original starting QB. He deserves the same chance to keep his job as Jj was afforded last year.
"I can't imagine anyone else going through more than I did" comment. Ever seen such arrogance and poor arrse thinking.? The soldier that comes back with no legs............... The mom who loses the kid to cancer.......................... The spouse at the funeral home............................... The tragedy of psoriases........ BSBSBSBS But, but, oh yeah...... u can put it in the bank, JJ will be the starter, the offence will suck once again, the 'miracle' finishes will be all that saves the season, etc etc
Nope, you can count me as one more who doesn't think we are doomed. There is no reason to change anything that we have been doing. The chemistry is good, Lee's leadership and the way he conducts himself on and off the field are good. The team is winning and has a chip on their shoulder. All is good. Don't change a thing. Jefferson made a big mistake. He's paying the price and now he should work his tail off to do what is right for himself and for the team. I expect competitors to compete and I expect mature leaders to recognize how to properly channel their competitive energy for the better of the team. The wrong thing to do (as a fan, player or coach) is to take away from the great work that has been done by them all. It takes everyone leaning in the same direction to pull the championship rope. We can make a big deal out of it all or we can move on. The focus should be squarely on crushing Florida.
We get it. This was a bad comment. Hardly worth the doom and gloom. The team will be fine. Try my bank instead: The winning ways will continue and this will end up a phenomenal season. Come back from the edge my friend. Get back to enjoying life.
LSU is only one unfortunate play away from desperately needing JJ. A starting QB in the SEC can be injured, and most SEC defenses would LOVE to knock the opposing starting QB out of the game.
The only people who are upset with JJ's interview are the people who are upset that he's even back on the team in the first place. The only thing that would have made them happy would be to hear JJ announce that he is quitting the team. So when he does the opposite, talking about how he's going to put up the best effort he can to be the best QB on the team, these people are furious (HOW DARE HE!?!?!? HOW DARE HE TRY TO BE THE BEST!?!?! WHAT A SCUM BAG!!! WHAT A TRAITOR TO THE TEAM!!!) Some people act like they think Lee's psyche is so weak and fragile that having another senior pushing him for the starting job is going to force Lee to crumble... if that's the case, if Lee's psyche is really that pathetically weak and fragile, then Lee's going to eventually crumble under the pressure of our grueling schedule (combined with the ever-increasing expectations to stay ranked #1), regardless if JJ is on the team or not. And some people are acting like they actually think JJ is saying he is going to do something malicious to harm Lee so that Lee can't play. I get we are fans, fanatics, but wow some of you people are out in crazy land. The job of every player on this team is to put forth the effort to be the best they can be, to give 150%. If doing this results in them beating out the guy ahead of them on the depth chart, that doesn't mean they are a bad teammate.
You're painting with a pretty broad brush there homie. It isn't that some of us don't want him to put forth his best effort. My problem was his usual I, me, my, and victim mentality. I want him to just get away from the interviews for his, and the team's own good for the time being. I'm still happy with where this team is going, and I am glad he will get to finish his career as a Tiger and not as an inmate.
