And therein lies the problem of him getting it the previous two years, when he didn't deserve it nearly as much. His teammates are clearly better than those of all but Nowitski, but that machine just doesn't run without him in the game. When the Suns are on, they are just an offensive marvel. And it all goes through the Canadian. Great coach, yes. Supporting cast? No way. Not even close actually, especially playing in the west. It's Kobe, Odom, and some other guys in Laker gear. This was the first time since Iverson in the late 90's when I really thought it made better sense for one guy to jack up 50 shots a night, because his teammates would shoot under 5% otherwise. If the MVP was really the MVP, it would have to be Kobe, in a unanimous decision. I would put the supporting cast right around Cavs level, and Yao missed 32 games. McGrady put the team on his back, and covered up the deficiencies of a below average roster. No doubt about that. I would give it to him purely on the basis of him not bothering to play the first half of the season because he knew it didn't matter. He was too banged up after playing rec ball with Team USA over the summer. Yea, I think we can agree on that! :hihi:
