Thanks for the reminder of how good New Orleans' roast beef po' boys are. Oh, how I use to love them. Whenever my frequent "sick day's" happened and I'd stay home from school, after my folks left for work, I'd recover in time for lunch to ride my bike a few miles to one of my favorite lunch "dives" to have a roast beef po'boy, dripping with ample hot gravy and loads of mayonnaise. While we have great food here in Los Angeles, especially every kind of Asian food, not to mention Lawry's prime rib and Philippie's French dip (lamb is my favorite), you guys in Louisiana sure have it good... bon appetit!
Me too, but I try to make the "cheat foods" more of an exception and not the rule. Although just recently, I was passing one of my favorite cheat restaurants which makes great French fried onion rings. It's a hamburger joint owned by a Greek. I was talking to the Greek while my rings were frying about everything from how the stress in Los Angeles is insidious to how fit he looked. He shared his two secrets to personal health. First, he takes a vigorous ninety minute walk almost every night and then whispered his second secret, he never eats in his own restaurant.
