All I know is that if my father died, my child was born prematurely and had fluid on his brain, I wouldn't want to hear (profanity) from anyone.
So going through trials in life gives you the right to do and say and smoke what you want...Ok...I'll make sure I start fights at every place I enter, and I will go hunt me a dime bag right now. Good captains are determined by rough seas. I went the Perilloux route when my dad died and things went wrong...trust me...it was the EASY way out...and I don't respect the way I handled it then, and I don't respect the way he handles it now. But I do have compassion on him...I can have compassion on someone without respecting how they act. It is possible.
We have a member on this board, JayB, who has been in a life and death fight for the better part of a year now; he's still fighting. We've gotten to know his family during that fight, as well. They are the epitome of grace and perseverance. That is the mark of a strong person when the chips are down and how they respond. RP did NOT have to respond the way he did. In fact, I'm pretty sure that Les Miles would've been happy to help him work through those huge life events. It did NOT have to come to RP getting HIMself kicked off the team. The whole statement I quoted smacks of immaturity, which most of us here believe is the root cause of RP's problems.
Well said...you basically said what I was trying too...I was just more of a smart alec about it. I agree with you wholeheartedly. You never know what someone is REALLY made of until you see them go through something, and that's when champions emerge, and busters submerge. If the shoe fits, wear it.
