Did you know that 1/3rd of the SEC schools don't have private jets for the staff?

Let me add an addendum here...

Bandit has a point. It's one of the reasons that UT has had less than spectacular results in their recruiting the last few years.

Here is the key. They are not buying a plane, they simply are leasing. Most private jet flyers have either a lease or if you have used someone often then it is merely a question of scheduling. Many schools are either leasing or have a reserve lease (on the spot lease). It appears Kentucky is now catching up.

Good point. I just noticed that as well.

What's the situation with your team/school?

We have one, owned by the University and then a couple of more owned by members of our Alumni that are available.

i was just pointing out all those jets havent equalled to results on the field when compared to UK the last decade.

i think you are being enamored with the money and planes the bigger schools have and also putting weight on recruiting championships when all that matters are actual results.

surely its an advantage if it translates to wins. not so much otherwise.

i would never do such a thing.

I believe that LSU has a leased twin turboprop that is fast and fuel efficient for most of its recruiting work in TX/AR/LA/MS/FL and can land almost anywhere. Alumni corporate jets are made available to the coaches when longer hops are needed.

The leased and borrowed jets are always new and never have to be bought or sold. Money is better spent on coaches and facilities than upon the university ego.

but at some schools, those two things are inseperable.
