I turn on ESPN this morning just in time to hear Pete Carroll say, and I quote, "the Pac 10 is ridiculously hard". Yes, he actually said that. Now excuse me for finding humor in this but, WHA...???? The Pac 10 is so "ridiculously" hard that USC has won 6 straight Pac 10 titles. That's just stupid hard. The Pac 10 is so "ridiculously" hard that since 2002, Petey holds a 45-6 record against that same aforementioned ridiculously hard conference. The Pac 10 is so "ridiculously" hard that other than USC, there isn't a single Pac 10 team in the AP top 25. Murderers' row I tell ya. The Pac 10 is so "ridiculously"hard that there is never even a debate as to what team will win the Pac 10, it's a debate as to what team will come in second behind USC. Is it really that the Pac 10 is a "ridiculously" hard conference, or that USC is ridiculously prone to losing to teams that have no business being within 15 points of the Trojans by halftime? Sounds like a little campaigning by Petey. Personally, I think he could use a more valid pitch.
No joke! I heard that too and was floored. You think the Pac 10 is ridiculously hard? Try playing in a real conference like the SEC... or maybe the Mountain West :hihi:

The Pac 10 being ridiculously hard is conveniently predicated on when it benefits USC, much like the BCS.
the pac1 is akin to bobby bowden's reign when he made the wisest decision of his life to join the ACC and not the SEC. what'd he lose like 8 conference games through 13-14 years? that was long before miami ever merged and wake forest became a powerhouse. hopefully now the media will overreact the opposite way and lump them with the big10. they built them up to dynasty status; its time to take your medicine.
Soooooo, how is Sanchez's Heisman campaign coming after last night's loss?:grin: What makes the Pac 10 so "hard" is that the teams are very good at flying below the radar and making other teams think they aren't any good. They like to keep themselves out of the top 25 to maximize the upset potential when they face a ranked team. Look how USC fell for it last night ! Trickery, trickery, trickery !!!!!!! You think Pete Carroll actually believes what he said about the Pac 10?
I don't think Pete really believes that the Pac 10 is ridiculously hard, but I think he's trying to make us and the media believe that the Pac 10 is ridiculously hard. Gotta admit though, I get a tummy ache after just one cupcake. I would imagine it's tough to take on 12. So I do feel for USC.
