Definitely tend to agree, especially with the angles and tackling. That deals more with fundamentals, which, in turn, goes back to coaching. I've always found the difference between good teams and great teams are not so much one team has a much better scheme or system, it's that great teams are always more fundamentally sound; they don't have expert systems, they have expert fundamentals.
I haven't heard that they're out there talking to recruits. In fact, it looks like Peveto is campaigning hard for the NSU job.
:geaux::crystal::helmet: In total agreement with you, except could it have been more loyalty than denial? He knew there were major problems. Seems like the Meltdown on Markham pretty much cleared away any lingering doubts for CLM that something needed to be done. Pretty much wrote it in stone. Now, if it will just get done!!! I know these things take time, just that the sooner the changes are made the better. Better for the team, staff, fans and especially those of us here on TF. :hihi: :geauxtige:champs::LSU231:
Miles is the League Champion of coach speak. You almost need a secret decoder ring to stay with him during one of his press conferences/interviews. IMO, he does this to keep secretive. If you notice, he doesn't give ANY info about injuries, game plan, coaching moves, NOTHING. Now back to the topic: Miles had to know he had a problem, and a big one. He must have realized it after the UGA game. Poor tackling, players out of position, WR running WIDE OPEN down the middle of the field, game after game after game. I'm sure the defensive coaches talked about all of this during their meetings. Then they went to the practice field and applied it. So my question is- If the same players are making the same mistakes over and over again, whats' the deal? Did we NOT have anyone better at DB and LB, or did the COACHES do a poor job of communicating the play call, coverage, etc? Arky was the straw that broke the Mallveto's back! :crystal::geaux::crystal::geaux::crystal:
You're probably on target. I also believe a few defensive players may have tanked out of disrespect for the scheme and the coordinators. Watch Chad Jones on film vs. Ole Miss and Arkansas. Unless he was suffering from an undisclosed injury, he was mailing it in.
