Steves, I think Lou influenced most of the games I watched outside SEC teams. Does anyone play defense outside the SEC?

No, Bama's kicker was missing 50 yarders. It's not that uncommon to misse 4 field goals over 45 yards for a college kicker no matter what the talking heads tell you. The Stanford kid missed two kicks less than 45 yards. That's much worse.

Many years ago I tried kicking field goals and extra points. This may seem obvious, but it's a lot harder than it looks... and I was practicing without anyone trying to block my kicks.

BTW, I had plenty of leg - made some 45 yarders. But the goal posts look about 1 inch apart at that distance. I found out that accuracy is harder to achieve than distance. A lot harder. My hat is off to the men who can make field goals with regularity.

Stanfurd's coach is to blame by turning conservative on that last drive in regulation.

He took the ball out of Luck's hands, an inexcusable mistake for a big time program.

Freshman kicker? Good luck with that, coach.
