That’s certainly one way to instill discipline haha. But something tells me that you had more tools in your tool belt for discipline in the Marines than just a baton or a fist.
Its like he said, the brotherhood. While DI's weren't punching people when I was in, when they weren't around "we" took care of the shit bags keeping us running.
I saw the video of what happened with that old man in Buffalo and their PD. Absolutely terrible. But here's the thing, and I've been saying this since Rodney King. It's particularly important in this instance because when the Buffalo video starts, the cop's hand is already on the man's chest. When you see a video like this, you have to ask yourself, what was happening that made the person with the camera decide to turn on the camera? We have no idea how long the cop and the old man were face to face, what was being said and what was being done until that moment. We probably never will. Just heard the 2 cops involved have been fired, and in response, the entire Buffalo PD emergency response team - 57 officers - quit today. If things don't calm down, I think it won't be long before you see some "blue flu" in some of these cities. That's when the shit's really going to get bad.
Your point isn’t lost on me. But postulate some reasonable scenario that could justify what they did. I can’t really think of any.
I stated the the old guy was stupid to put himself in that position, but the dude is 75 years old, whatever threat he may have made could have been handled differently. Particularly at this point in time. Additionally the police quit the riot squad not the force
Maybe he was told - repeatedly - to move out of the way and refused. Or maybe he did absolutely nothing. I don't know, which is part of the point - we have no way of knowing. And while I feel bad for the old man, he chose to stand in the path of about 30 cops in riot gear. Stay off the dance floor if you can't dance. Something else to consider - he may have been literally asking for it. First video I saw of protests in DC was on the street in front of the White House. They had those police barricade fences up, and a bunch of cops were standing in a group watching the protesters violently shake the fence. They didn't react. Then they pushed a section of the fence over, and the cops started to fan out. The second they started moving, all of the protesters took their hands off the barricade and held them straight up in the air. No doubt in my mind they were hoping the cops would get physical so there would be video evidence. This guy may have wanted to get manhandled and didn't count on skull meeting concrete. We've seen it happen many times at events like this. There's a commonality to all the videos of peaceful protests, and to the videos of riots as well. When the cops give instructions, the peaceful protesters listen. The bad guys don't.
Well one old guy gets shoved down vs cops shot and killed, shot at, stabbed, run over, beat up and hit with bricks yet the media focuses on a guy pushed down who was in the face of a cop. More worried about our boys in blue than some old liberal fool. Democrats have been demonizing the cops for years and even encourage violence against them. People better realize these socialist leftist and all democrats mean business. They are trying to overthrow Trump and take this country to a dark place. Travon Martin, Freddie Gray and Michael Brown were all used to riot and kill by the left. All three were lied about by the democrats and the media purposely for their agenda. The inmates are now running the asylum.
Just my opinion, but none of these scenarios warrant the force used. And I’m unconcerned with whether there are people trying to catch police using unnecessary force. Two wrongs don’t make a right.
