everyone seems to forget that it was Republican spending that got us into this mess. two unfunded wars, unfunded tax cuts x 2, medicare part D......were any of these enacted when Obama was President? Did some dems vote for this stuff too? yep and they shoulder just as much blame. the Republicans have flapped their gums so much about spending cuts that they have failed to mention that the very things they are asking to cut were originally Republican initiatives. Their party has reached such a point of disarray that they cannot even completely support the very things that they have considered corner stones of their party platform.
this is how politics works. romney is a proper business man, successful in business the way no other presidents are. he was our best hope to be sane with spending. he would have been one of the best presidents ever. he cant say what his specific cuts are because people are stupid fucks. everything he said would have been met with caterwauling about how we desperately need that particular thing. so his best political move is to keep his mouth shut. there are sme questions (the womens pay equality thing is aother) where its stupid to answer the question if want to not be despised, because the average person is woefull unsophisticated and will hate you. even the mention of PBS, acompletely useless sack of worthlessness, sent people into a frenzy. and so taxes keep rising.
evidently keeping his mouth shut about spending cuts wasn't too sharp of a political move considering he lost the election badly. i think he lacked balls. if he really believes in what he says then he should be able to articulate what he believes are programs that can be cut. otherwise he is all talk. let's face it, the guy underestimated Obama and thought he could win the election based on Obama's unpopularity, which his friends at FOX had grossly overestimated.
This is how dishonest politics works. Exactly. He had a poor background for high political office. Name one successful President who came from a CEO background. The very notion that you can run government exactly like a business is not only unproven but has had some spectacular failures . . . like Mike Foster who tried to run Louisiana government like a business and failed. Government is not a business. A wild-ass guess of course. If you have no political courage you should not run for President for it will be exposed. Personal opinion. The fact that most people favored keeping PBS is the American way. The government does not exist to serve martin's interests alone.
have you ever met mike foster? i have. that guy is seriously a proper stupid moron. incredibly inarticulate. he is no mitt. anways, you touch on political courage, and exposing view that make people unelectable. it brings me back to the idea that an honest politician doesnt really exist. tell the truth and unsphisiticated clods will hate you. admit that yu will cut spending and everyone hates you and votes for obama, who has the courage to lie about being christian and is therefore electable. the question is how much you are willing to lie or keep silent. maybe one day we will be past this. i would say it is impossible, but peple like mike bloomberg and boris johnson prove otherwise, sort of.
No president has been a successful CEO. That's why we have 16+trillion in debt right now. Most presidents have been politicians. That's why we're 16+ trillion in debt now. All they do is promise to take from the earners and give to the takers. And people love "free" shit. Unfortunately nothing is free. For one to receive something for free they have to take something from someone else.
I just think its funny that because the Dems "didn't run" on spending cuts that it is OK for them to continue the "Republican" spending. Just man up and say they are all bastards. Everyone of them. They do not give a shit.
