When LSU was recruiting the Torence, California Junior College men, such as 5-star defensive end Simi Kuli, it appeared that LSU had the inside track. The Kuli did something difficult for me to understand, he committed to Nebraska when Nebraska was in chaos. I know it doesn't do any good to speculate too much now, but does anyone have any indication that Bo Pelini actually recruited Kuli for Nebraska? It sure looks like it to me.
Seems more likely that he enjoyed his NU visit a lot, and if anything, Osbourne told him the DC at LSU would soon be his HC. I doubt Pelini told him anything.
 Nebraska had the inside track since early summer. They were the first team to offer and his grades may have been an issue. Seriously he was recruited hardest by Nebraska and had not gotten offers from some schools he was interested in. News of Callahan's demise were out there but some of their recruits were defecting to the irish so maybe Simi saw potential for starting right away.
Nebraska had the inside track on a handfull Torrance players early on. Simi just happened to stay with them.
Not everyone loves LSU like we do. It happens I doubt Bo would do that before their coach was even fired, or at all really.
