Nothing as bad as the LSU hit out of bounds (so called) that Les went off on. Typical close calls but none that I saw that was terrible. Maybe a small going away present for him but after Martinez got him fired up I think the amount of water in the water bottle would have pissed him off.
I sat and watched the game at Fox Sports Grill, so I couldn't really hear what the announcers were saying, but I did find it amusing how out-of-his-mind Pelini was. He was seriously losing it.
I think we got called for a facemask and not a late hit and Les was arguing about the wrong thing. I think. My memory is escaping me for some reason. Anybody remember what happened?
On the sidelines? While the game was going on? He woulda gotten a lot worse than a butt chewing if he'd been on my team, if that was the case. To answer the OP's question, no, I can NEVER remember Pelini going off like that on an LSU player, a reff, or really anyone at anytime while he was here. At least nothing we don't usually see week in and week out in the SEC. Since he's been at Nebraska though, boy, his temper really has gotten national attention quite a few times. Chewing on a player and giving it to the reffs like he did last weekend though, that was almost Bobby Knight-esque.
Yep. After I saw the replay I screamed a couple of 4 letter words. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7aBKWQRjz2E]YouTube - Les Miles is pissed[/ame]
yea, helmet to helmet. I'm disappointed I missed it as I was heading home from work. Although Miles was pretty animated earlier that drive when we got called for too many men on the field or something. He was giving the ref an ear full.
It was 16 penalties... still... a record of some kind, eh? 4 personal fouls 3 false starts 2 unsportsman-like conduct 2 holding 2 pass interference 1 roughing the passer 1 intentional grounding 1 illegal formation and a partridge in a pear tree.
That's what's being reported on other boards. And Pelini's remarks makes it easy to believe in my opinion.
From the video with the interview of Howard, I would have love to see Desmond Howard take a swing a Schembechler on the sidelines.
