I wasn't aware of what happened until I read about it today. [ame="http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=5838941"]Nebraska Cornhuskers coach Bo Pelini apologizes for conduct - ESPN@@AMEPARAM@@http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=5839541@@AMEPARAM@@5839541[/ame]
Supposedly Martinez was on a cell phone talking to or texting a parent. If that's true, Bo had a right to rip his ass IMO.
I love Pellini but he looked ridiculous during that game. His temper got the best of him and I am not just talking about him and Martinez. He was chasing down refs, etc... They just kept the cameras on him almost the entire 4th qtr.
Wow -- he really lost it. Typical ESPN coverage, though, just in that short clip that islstl posted, they showed Pelini and Martinez 4 times... :geauxtige
Word is his brother took a swing at a cameraman after the game and may be disciplined. Pelini had quite the reputation when he was an assistant at Iowa, but we all thought it was because he was young and stupid (with my past, I bought right into that concept)... but now it appears his brain still hasn't fully matured. He may turn out to be a Woody Hayes... without the record. Coaches are fun, ain't they!!
He never seemed to exhibit that kind of fury while on the sidelines at LSU. I never saw him rip into a player to the point of wtf is he doing.
I didn't see the game, were the ref calls all that bad? A friend who is a Texas-ex said some of the calls looked like "Bye Bye Bo, don't let the door hit you in the butt on your way to the Big 10!" calls. Maybe Bo had some justification? This friend is 62, and he knows the way the old SWC used to be...
