    I think Stacy is correct. Didn't Hester give the number to him at one of their banquets or something? Not like Hester can control it, but I vaguely remember reading something like that.

    I'm not sure. There are other Tiger greats who have passed away, as well. Are any of our numbers retired for that reason?

    it may take three.

    that aside, if the guy wearing the number is comfortable with it, thats all that matters to me.

    some people wont wear certain numbers because of superstitions, but if they dont have a problem, why should i?

    and i agree with 88. :thumb:

    LSU doesn't retire jerseys very often, unlike some schools. Only the best of the best get numbers retired. There are only five in all of LSU sports. Each of them HUGE, HUGE, names in the business.

    Football = Billy Cannon 20
    Basketball = Bob Pettit 50, Pete Maravich 23, Shaquille O'Neal 33
    Baseball = Skip Bertman 15
