While this is 100% true, I don't get the same feeling I did during the Jefferson/Lee era. I felt like a battered woman that shuttered every time Jefferson wound up. At least we don't get afraid of what's on the other side when Harris throws the ball?...
I agree. I felt the same way. JJ always had that look about him..... At least Harris has the talent to be a solid QB.
J. Russell had the same problem early in his career. It got corrected, but as they say in the investing biz..."past performance is not an indicator of future success."
Also explains his poor throws on roll out plays when he needs to twist his torso to make the throw. One throw to Quinn on a roll out to his left during the bowl was particularly off-target. Fingers are crossed here.
I would agree with this statement, however during that time frame Miles and staff were doing a much better job of coaching up kids. I've said it many times, but the culture of coaching up kids and the swagger is gone. Each year the next man up was prepared, you would see a steady improvement from players. Unfortunately we don't see that continued improvement as much over the last few seasons.
A lot of validity to what you're saying, but in the Russell to Harris comparison, don't forget Russell's big year was his 4th in the program. He red-shirted, split time his 2nd year, got the ball full-time in his 3rd. Harris didn't redshirt, and played far less as a true freshman than Russell did as a RS before getting the starting job.
