No doubt experience and time should help them improve. But we shouldn't have to wait 4 years between seasons where we have competent QB play at a big time program. No matter what the problem or who is to blame, this coaching staff has to do a tremendously better job fielding a QB.
I agree; and assuming Harris or Etling develop next year, it will be 3 years...but that's splitting hairs. At worst, a single off-season for a first year starter is understandable. We've had a first year starter two years in a row - maybe Jennings as a second-year starter would have blossomed this year, but now we'll never know.
We do know. There are just too many schools that have infinitely better qb's than we do, same class or younger. It defies logic as to why we can't get just one
It infuriates me to watch so many other teams have above average QB's while we have our ANNUAL QB struggles.
Duarte transferring is good for him, but not because of our Qb or the program. He was stuck way down the depth chart and he wants to play. Quinn I doubt will go anywhere, he knows he has had to improve to compete with college athletes, especially get stronger.
The new WR coach just did not want to play Chark, Diarse, and Quinn much. They all can play but they didn't see the field much and Harris couldn't get them the ball when they did.
I think the play action throws him off too. He's not one of those guys who can focus immediately after turning his back to the defense. Takes him a while to get his field vision back after the fake.
Because he has probably never run a snap under center until he got to LSU. Someone who has watched him in high school could better answer that though.
