This is what I predict. Yes they cut him but they can still resign him for a lower amount of money. He test the market sees that no one wants him. Resigns with the Saints for the league min and plays in the first home game, scores a TD and retires! On the field doing what he does best!
Hopefully this is just the prelude to a re-structured contract. There haven't been many players who just wouldn't look right in anything but a Saints uni, but Deuce is certainly one of them. Not always (see Morton Andersen and Bobby Hebert)
I was telling a buddy of mine that. I could very easily see him signing with the Saints for a smaller amount of $$.
can't argue against Rickey Jackson. But we won't see Deuce in a Saints uniform ever again, unfortunately. He doesn't fit SP "cute" offense, which is totally stupid on SP part. I could see Tampa signing him.
I agree. Can't tell you how many times last year, especially on the goal line after Deuce was healthy that he got left out of the offense.
More bad news for Deuce, he filed for bankruptcy protection, allegedly he owes Nissan almost $7M: http://www.wlbt.com/Global/story.asp?S=9942272
