MVP is subjective and usually has multiple worthy candidates. ESPN helped D. Rose with this year's award significantly. I didn't know much about D. Rose until I read an SI article about a month ago. The article really portrayed him a likeable and down to earth. When rumors were going around that he didn't want Lebron to join him in Chicago, he simply sent Lebron a short text that said, 'Just wanted to kill the rumors that I don't want you in Chicago. I'd love to play with you and know we'd win big.' Previously, he didn't feel comfortable with a public recruiting effort because he liked him team and thought they already had an all-star level SF (L. Deng). As a high school senior, he already had big time college offers and focused on distributing to teammates that desperately wanted D1 offers. As a freshman at Memphis, he deferred to his older teammates out of respect. Same thing as a rookie in the NBA. Finally, he realized in the offseason that the Bulls franchise needed him to be more assertive and now he's the youngest MVP in NBA history. When he has two good wheels, you gotta love his game. More impressive is his humility. FYI - I'm not a Bulls fan and not even sure if I'll root for them if they make it to the next (Heat/Celtics winner) round. Then again, maybe so after learning more about Rose.
