I used the game notes linked below but based on Miles' comments today made a change at FS.

Miles hinted that Eugene was ahead but still a battle between Loston, Eugene, and Reid. I think we will see all 3 get playing time.

In places where there is an OR I think it is safe to assume the 1st guy listed will be the 1st onto the field.

LBs are pretty surprising but not in another sense. Biggest surprise is Barrow as a starter with Baker out and Sheppard staying on the inside. But we will see Sheppard moving to play 2 or 3 LB positions and a rotation with Minter getting plenty of playing time.

Nice to see Reid, Vinson, Muncie, Mathieu, Welter, Wright, and Boone all listed on the 2-3 deep. Maclin as well but I think he ends up redshirting and some of the others listed could too like Welter or Vinson. I think Muncie plays this year.

The free safety position is very interesting, Im surprised that Reid has come on so strong, we have alot of depth at the position.

Im very surprised and concerned about the Outside Linebacker position. I hope Maclin doesn't redshirt because we have depth issues there. I was hoping Minter got the start as well.

And I hope Montgomery just brings the pain!
Also, Simon at corner is very interesting.
I really like our defensive line this year.

I am extremely concerned about the LB position as well.

This could hurt stopping 3rd down conversions. As long as KS has the outside playing more conservative than extreme I’ll be comfortable.

We cant afford to bite on play action, not cover the screens or quick routes and get smashed between the 20’s.

LBs are a concern but I am optimistic given it seems like Chavis is very satisfied at how the guys are coming along and this is their 2nd year under Chavis. All the LBs have the ability to play each spot which will also bring in interesting sets depending on the hot hand and who we are facing.

Well, lets hope he doesn't have to do it much, but i like Eugene at Safety, because he is one of the best tacklers on this team, well at least one of the best tacklers of any of the guys who saw time last year, can't really speak on the new heads til we see em in action.

As far as linebackers, Chavis will have those kids playing their asses off. I mean seriously coming into last season, if you would have told me Perry Riley, Cutrera, and Sheppard would have played like they did i would thought you robbed my stash.

Shepard at wideout ahead of Randle? That surprises me.

I don't expect to see the fullback too much unless a superior one emerges. We need that slot receiver in the game if the fullback is no more effective than last season. We have three star receivers and three nobody fullbacks.

The Z receiver is the slot receiver. The first two on the X are the normal wide outs.
