So I do have a serious question. Why is it that injuries are down some over last year? Is it structure of practice? Is it the nutrition program? Is it luck? I asked Coach O at the Gridiron club luncheon last year that very thing. He said it was luck….
I am critical, of poor posters that is. So in your view Vanderbilt has poor play 90% of the time, right? In your lack of football acumen view Vanderbilt has no excuse for why they get their asses handed to them 90% of the time other than poor play. Is that your view?
First year not only at LSU but the big bad SEC and a unique culture down here to boot. Kelly has had to gather a staff, had get to know the school and his bosses, get to know his team, recruit and cobble together a competitive team. Kelly has done a remarkable job. Kirby has been at Georgia for 7 years, knows his players, knows the school, already knew the SEC and the culture down here and on and on. That's what I was getting at.
I won't disagree that at times we got pushed around. Overall, we did pretty well considering the lack of depth we had in key areas (on both sides of the ball). Right now, I think this is a "Jimmies and Joes" issue and not an "X's and O's" issue. If we get the talent back up to a proper LSU level and those problems persist, then we can start talking about assistants.
When you compare talent level to opponents, we were still more talented than most everyone we played. Should be a beast when we get back to full depth talent.
Hung Half a Hundred on LSU. I'd say a lot of better supporting staff. BTW, the "Jimmies & Joe's" are for sale every year now. We might sign them, but can we keep them? Same for any team really.
