So your concluding statement seems to say you will be impressed only if we beat Georgia the undisputed # 1 team who has a veteran coach, the defending NC and has much more talent than we do currently. Is that about right?
I hear you. I am in a different place. I dont expect us to beat Georgia on Saturday. On paper they are simply better than us. They are the defending champs. They made Tennessee look average. They have a good coach who is settled in as opposed to Kelly being in his first year. Their roster is at the moment more talented and deeper than ours. We can win if JD plays his very best game. We will have get some take a ways and not make many mistakes. I am totally satisfied with what Kelly has accomplished this year. He and this team has exceeded my and it appears all the sports media's expectations.
Doubtful. We've only had 1 LSU Football coach to beat Bama 5 times in Football -- ever. For example, McClendon only beat them yellow hammers 2 times in 18 years. And we kept him way too long for his winning percetage against everyone. Then it was "Fan Fatigue" because editor Scott Rabalais didn't like him. He made him look foolish at a presser. Thus, fan fatigue. was termed by the angry, hefty one.
Thus was the poor coverage back the. Rabalais wrote 2 open letters for Coach "Fred" to be terminated. The best was right before the 2011 season. How'd we do? Beat every team in the schedule, involving Bama. Rabalais was bumming & looked foolish, as ge tried to b write why we were 13-0 & SEC Champions. expecting to see Jeff Gundy's team. Instead, the tons of fun got lucky. BCS people wanted an all SEC NC game. The rest is history.
I'm not going to get drawn into yet another pointless argument about why it was time for Les to go, especially with someone who somehow sees a parallel between Brian Kelly and Curley Hallman.
On Denbrock... His offense got the Cincinnati Bearcats into the playoffs last year. Go read that again...Cinci effing nati. This year, he took an LSU team that had diddly and squat in terms of players and helped get us to the SEC CG. Everyone wants LSU to have some kind of offense that resembles the San Diego Chargers when Dan Fouts was the QB. You know what kind of offense wins football games more consistently than any other kind? The boring ass kind of ball control offense that people like Denbrock runs. I bet if we fired him today, Luke Fickel would hire him at Wisconsin tomorrow.
