This is nothing to do with race and everything to do with the community and wealth. Have you read the book outliers? http://www.amazon.com/Outliers-Story-Success-Malcolm-Gladwell/dp/0316017930 I think this book does a very good job of explaining things. White privilege has turned into this race card, which is so far from the truth. It has everything to do with wealth. White kids, brown kids, all kids can be poor.......
You have reading comprehension skills this morning. RED, he said "WHITE" privilege... HE MENTIONED IT and you are defending it. "as a White male in society, I was given a lot of privilege I didn't earn." Like I said, make a case. There is not a single reason to mention race in a wealth/community issue such as this. Wealth privilege vs opportunity for poor kids IS a real issue. Not this racist "white privilege" shit.
Read it in context, wealth privilege is exactly what he is talking about. He talked about poor people, not black people.
No he specifically talked about being White... You can't spin it. It is as clear as day.. "as a White male in society, I was given a lot of privilege I didn't earn." He didn't say "as a kid of wealthy parents".... or as a "wealthy individual" He is saying he was given shit because he was "WHITE"..
No, he said that he felt guilty that he had privileges as a white male and that all kids should have equal privileges. I do not feel this guilt, but a lot of people do. Not one word about "ending white privilege" but about creating broad opportunities for all. And you know as well as I do that "white male" is a synonym for "rich and enabled" for many people.
OMG get off the title of the video. I never said one word about it.... Right, it is a synonym, but race is being attached to it for the wrong reasons.
Which leads me to my point that if people like him are in control of the education system and do not fully understand the problem, how on earth will they be able to fix it.
