Who says I'm neutral? I'm a moderate, which means I'm not an extremist. But I take a position on almost any issue. You make a case for your position and I'll make a case for mine. Save us the faux indignation if I don't take up part of your argument for you because you certainly don't either.
It is definitely gravy for those leaving the workforce . . . because they are retiring. Have you ever heard of something called the Baby Boom? Huge numbers of Boomers are starting to retire and leaving the workforce! This will continue until about 2040 when almost all will have left the workforce. Meanwhile more jobs are being created every month for those that are still looking for work. Unemployment is way down at 6.3% and approaching the normal post-WWII 5% level.
So our population is increasing but the labor force is shrinking. Surely you can read between the lines.
Of course. The retirement of the boomers will cause a shrinking labor force until they are done. There are just so many of them and subsequent generations are lesser in number. Don't be vague. If you are trying to make a point, then make it.
So what policy is lowering the unemployment? Because like I said earlier, more people are leaving than entering. Thus, unemployment drops.
Obviously. But Boomers have been leaving the workforce for almost 10 years now, yet the unemployment numbers have continued to drop. So clearly the economy is doing well and employers are hiring more people as well as replacing Boomers.
