Yes I get that, however if the voice of the public says they don't want something shouldn't they have to listen instead of giving us the congressional finger and daring us to do something about it? Its bullcrap in its finest form.

As for your public record bills, I doubt that those are the ones that harry and his clown posse have drawn up. Has to be a decoy to get people off the trail. Too many have said they have no idea whats in this bill because they won't allow anyone to read it. If a senator can't read it I'm pretty sure Red can't get his hands on it.

Dispute it all you want but there have been many commentaries on this matter by both left and right wingers. Like I said, just google it.

Here's a passage from the link I posted before. There are plenty of others.

While my specific opinion of the term doesn't matter, neither does yours. It is general sentiment and general sentiment has been observed by many that "liberal" has a negative connotation. Hell, even left wing politicians go crazy when you call them a liberal. They always dispute "the most liberal" candidate thing.

they dont want to be the most liberal because they dont want to be seen as extremist. nobody wants to tbe "the most" anything.

liberal has a negative connotation in conservative circles.

red is clearly right here. elected officials are supposed to lead. we elect them, and they do what they think is right.

you cant favor obama's cap and trade and call yourself a moderate.

We still need a thread showing the correlation between Louisiana Democrats and our historic failures in the state and Louisiana Republican dominated areas of the state and their ability to break the cycle...and have highly rated stats in their parishes/towns, etc.

I think it's a good example of why free enterprise and hard work pay dividends and government run social programs don't. (although buying votes from the poor does pay dividends for one particular party)

The voice of the public is expressed through the representatives, not through polls. It has always worked that way. And the polls don't even suggest that the public doesn't want a health bill.

You asked, so I posted the bills. So, now you say it must be a vast conspiracy to deceive you. :insane:

You didn't even look at them, did you? So, which people say they can't read it? People who decline to look for it?

The transparency issue is this . . . during the campaign Obama promised that the health care debate would be televised on C-SPAN. However the Congress isn't wild about the new (and possibly very contentious) compromise negotiations being televised to their constituents, they just want to release the compromise language when its completed and they are balking at open sessions.
