In other news, both Ossoff and Warnock won their runoff races today making it a 50-50 tie in the Senate. With VP Harris the Democrats will hold the majority and therefore all committees as well. It will provide Biden with a friendly congress to work with as long as he doesn't stray too far left. One Democratic defection could hand any vote to the Republicans. If you guys are honest with yourself you have to lay some of the blame for this result on Donald Trump, if not all of it. At the end of the day I am ready for some boring government without Trumps outrageous, flimsy or flip-flopping oral diarrhea. Ready to go back to arguing with @Winston1 about policy and conservative vs. principles and let these days of anti-science nuttiness be behind us once and for all.
I was listening to Kevin McCarthy's speech last night. After a bunch of words saying we have to unite as a country after what happened yesterday, he went into the tired cliché about how the majorty needs to work with the minority in the House and let the minority voices be heard and to allow inputs into legislation. Blah blah blah. Good luck with all that. The Dems are going to double down now. Let's hope 2 years is not long enough to sink the US too deep into the tar pit of socialism. Let's hope conservatism can find a new voice that we can rally behind. Because if people are going to keep pouting about what they did to fuckball Trump, 8 years are going to pass and there will be no recovery. The far left's voice will grow stronger by the day.
Unfortunately, I don't think there's any such thing as a moderate democrat left in the house or senate.
