From DandyDon: LSU will not have any recruits in for officials visits that I know of, and only a hand full of recruits will be in for unofficial visits this weekend. Highly-touted Blue Chip wide receiver Terrance Tolliver from Hemstead, Texas, will be making the trip to LSU with his uncle Harvey Williams, according to a long distance phone call I received from a person who reads my page. Demetrius Byrd, the No. 1 junior college wide receiver in the nation, will be making an unofficial visit to watch the Tigers defeat the Rebels. Several highly recruited in-state players will be attending the game at their own expense including Drake Nevis and Chad Jones.
I just read on scout where Byrd loved the and we are his number 1 choice right now....hes suppose to take his official trip sometime in January.
yeah, i ran into him in the locker room at the end of the night, and he was amazed... he'll be a Tiger
good point. seems the problem was obviously his quarterback at the juco. we are screwed w/o byrd this year. I just didnt realize he was 46 years old when he transferred.
DUDE! I just posted on another "follow up" thread that I would NEVER doubt you...now I read THIS??? I don't think "bad hands" is an issue with DByrd!
hahaha, this was my very first impression based on a couple of reviews I'd heard at the time. Don't worry, I changed my tune. "Byrd is a Tiger! A WR from JUCO, a 5 star according to Scout & 3 star according to Rivals. The only reason Rivals has him as a 3 star is because they haven't paid much attention to him. This guy is going to be good, very good - amazing speed, good route running, solid hands, good blocking. He'll be an immediate impact player for us." http://www.tigerforums.com/showthread.php?t=49123&highlight=Byrd
This is why I don't think that much of Rivals rankings. They sure seem to miss alot of good players just because they are not highly recruited by USC or ND. I think the class we have sign so far this year for the most part should be higher ranked, but that's another story.
