Chargers kept him on a year during his recovery but it appears it didn't work out. Pretty generous of them to draft him while he was in the hospital. I didn't like how he finished his LSU career but I was really pulling for him. He said he plans to return to LSU and finish his degree. Hopefully a little more time recovering will be all he needs to make it back. Extremely talented guy and gave us plenty of good memories. http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Chargers-cut-Demetrius-Byrd.html
You think they will ever draft another LSU wide receiver? Craig Davis and Byrd and Davis was a first round pick..
Davis was a surprise to everyone when he went first round. Byrd was in the hospital. I would say that is more a reflection upon charger management than LSU receivers. Big gambles sometimes do not work out.
I don't think that Demetrius Byrd ever really fully recovered from the accident. I think that his accident was worse than what most people think. JMHO.
Here is an article written last month about Buster Davis, says he's finally healthy, has a new attitude and looking to play: Too soon to call this Buster a Bolts bust - SignOnSanDiego.com
