Chargers kept him on a year during his recovery but it appears it didn't work out. Pretty generous of them to draft him while he was in the hospital. I didn't like how he finished his LSU career but I was really pulling for him.

He said he plans to return to LSU and finish his degree. Hopefully a little more time recovering will be all he needs to make it back. Extremely talented guy and gave us plenty of good memories.

You think they will ever draft another LSU wide receiver? Craig Davis and Byrd and Davis was a first round pick..

Davis was a surprise to everyone when he went first round. Byrd was in the hospital. I would say that is more a reflection upon charger management than LSU receivers. Big gambles sometimes do not work out.

I don't think that Demetrius Byrd ever really fully recovered from the accident. I think that his accident was worse than what most people think. JMHO.
