Fine, Dorsey was out or injuried for a while. But that's was just one key guy... one key guy that will NOT be on our team next year.

Our defense from the middle of the season on last year was a disappointment. They didn't look strong again until the BCSCG.

Our offense definitely was a high point for us, but our passing game struggled mightily when Early Doucet went out, and Lafell came down with a major case of "drop-itis."

Now, QB is a huge question, but again, we need a game manager, someone who will minimize mistakes. Frankly, we have no idea if that is Hatch or Lee or Jefferson or a combination thereof.

As for Dorsey being a "once in a generation" type of player, I don't really agree. LSU is developing quite a reputation for having elite D-linemen. He was wonderful, but we have some incredible guys still on that line, and I could easily see Francois being every bit the dominant force that Dorsey was on the line. Geez, RJF, not Dorsey, was the Defensive MVP against OSU--and that was after only playing two games all season.

Don't be so touchy, Clair. Nobody's picking on you or your projections...I just don't see how you nailed it. I wouldn't have expected you to...or even expected an expert to. Fact is, you thought LSU would have a great season, and you were right in that respect.

Just based on the quote that Bandit88 presented from last season, it wasn't close to accurate.

We'll get DT's like that NOW.

Don't forget Alabama, too...although, in the end...it was Chad Jones play that REALLY put us over the top...it was the offense that had to allow for the score to be close enough for something like that to make a difference. (The 3 picks by Flynn didn't do the defense any favors, though)

The 3 picks, not the defense, were the big problem in the Alabama game. Before Flynn started tossing the football up for grabs, we were set to pull away and win big.

the four things that worry me going into the season are:

    1) QB (inexperience)

    2) LB's (really the least of my worries)

    3) CB's (just the inexperience, not the talent)

    4) P

actually after last season i'll add kickoff and punt returns too.

i'm psyched about our OL and DL though. the WR's should be adequate and can't wait to unleash the stable in the backfield. as long as the QB can stop other teams from loading the box, our offense should be balanced enough to do some good.
