I'm looking at the 2010 Defensive Tackle depth chart, and see this:

Drake Nevis (SR) (If he doesn't go pro early)
    Ken Aubrey (JR)
DT's - (To be named later)

Here is where it gets a bit dicey for me. From the 2008 class we got Chancey Aghayere a DE. I've seen his films, and he does look a like a fantastic DE. Is he a possible hybrid DE/DT like RJF? Lavar Edwards, many seem to think either TE or DE or possibly DT. Similiar options with Chase Clement (?). Then Cordian Hagan who did sign as a DT, but some think he might be headed to the OL. Of course I heard the same rumor about Pep Levingston, which proved false. I think at least 1 will play DT out of this group, but it will be interesting to see where these guys end up.

Josh Downs in the 2009 class is very intriguing. Here again, some are saying will play OL, either C or OG, but judging from his videos, he looks incredibly fast off the line for a C/OG in my opinion. Does his video look more like a Drake Nevis or a T-Bob Hebert? Either way he looks to be a great player.

Maybe I am missing someone, or am completely wrong about the options of the guys in the 2008 class, but it seems to me we need to sign a minimum of 3 Defensive Tackles. Taking into consideration possible injuries, 2 just doesn't seem to be enough IMO. I know we are working with limited scholarships. What do you think of the 2008 recruits above as far as position & how many DTs do you think we need? Josh Down C or DT?

:geaux::crystal::helmet: I think Downs stays at DT and with Chris Davenport makes 2 DT's for '09. Believe the depth on the OL is such that they won't have to convert anyone from the DL. Also, what about Will Blackwell. Isn't he a DT prospect? I'm sure we'll probably get one more DT in this class besides Downs and Davenport, though I'm not sure who #3 will be. We should be fine. :geauxtige:champs::LSU231:

Downs will be on the oline and I think Blackwell will be also. Clement is an option for DL as well but I think as a DE.

Chancey will stay at DE and Lavar will play that position as well unless I am getting him confused with Tyler Edwards who will be a TE.

In the 2008 class, as I stated in the other thread, we will take at least 2 DT and maybe Sentimore along with the two if he gets the grades in order, the coaches want him here, and Sentimore still wants to come to LSU.

So 2 DTs and 2 DEs or 3 DTs and 2 DEs in this class.

I know I am missing a few more and I know Parso can straigten out any mistake I made and add to the list.

Do you mean 2009 or 2010? 2009 would be the year after next, which will have this class as freshmen.

Assuming you mean 2009, the depth chart looks like this:
    Drake Nevis Jr
    Kentravis Aubrey So
    Al Woods Sr
    Cordian Hagans Fr
+ At least 2 DT's in this class (Davenport, and Sentimore and/or McFarland).

Also, I expect either Lavar or Chancey to grow into a DT. I could see Lavar being an RJF type that can play both DE/DT, and supposedly Chancey isn't quick enough for DE, but he was injured last year so we'll have to see once he's completely healthy. I think Chase stays at DE, and Cordian stays at DT.

Downs will be a Center, and I expect Blackwell to stay at OG.

Then we will probably at least 2 more DT's in next year's recruiting class for 2010.
