The big difference in the game was that the refs let our defensive backs bump and put there hands on the receivers without calling interference all night. I know the pro rule is you can't bump the man after 5 yards, but I'm not sure if you can bump until the ball is in the air in college. We were definitely very physical and they were not calling anything early on. So we remained physical through the entire game and I think it helped. In championship games the refs usually let the players play and it helped. Try to think how many holding calls there were in this game--one?, none? Yeah there were personal foul galour, but not the normal amount of illegal use of hands, etc.

I agree with this post whole-heartedly. It was refreshing to see.

Chevis Jackson, should go in the first round of the draft, probably late. He really showed that he can cover in any situation.

The refs let them play, which is a good thing in national championship games. They never called holding even though both teams were holding like pro's.

It was refreshing to see the refs "let them play". There are many refs that have vendettas for wanting to control the game so much that they interfere with the game. Like all those recent celebration penalties. A little too much I think.

On the other hand, it was refreshing to see the Tigers simply flip the ball to the ref and jog out of the endzone acting like "They've been there before" to quote an ancient coach.
