But how long will it last??? If the offense does not change soon for the better I could see the defense start to lose heart. It happens it may not be intention but it happens.
Thank you for pointing this out! I thought the defense was phenomenal last night, flying around and making plays. Chad Jones has finally come around to the elite talent we all thought he'd be. I'd like to see more pressure from the Dline, but I'm satisfied right now. We should've only given up 9 points(remember Riley Cooper had to hold Chris Hawkins to get their only TD of the game). I think people are underestimating the offense due to this performance against a great D. I am no longer worried about our defense until we play 'Bama when I think our run D will really be put to the test. Geaux Tigers!
I'm very happy with the D, our back 7 was flying, Peterson, Jones, Riley, and Coleman, Sheppard. Now the bad news. Fla. was running a kindergarten offense. Physically, we were up to the test. Do I think we're going to shut down everyone and limit them to 13 points? Not hardly. I think we have a good solid D, but not sure how we hold up against a better passing attack than Fla. Stay rational and don't go get all over confident...
I think it's an amazing turnaround from last season with virtually the same players returning. Maybe "amazing" is too strong but my point being: Last year, with the same back 7, we were getting TORCHED. Plus, this year, we are missing some Dlinemen that were solid. So, "less" in terms of quality of Dline but same back 7 and we are holding opponents to under or around 300 yards and are +8 in terms of turnovers. That might not sound like much compaired to former defenses here, but when you're talking about the same guys, it's great progress.
