We could go anywhere in the world on short notice unopposed.

Let's say the wars in Afg. and Iraq are over. Troops have redeployed back to US bases. All troops stationed abroad (Korea, Europe, etc.) have also redeployed and are also back on US soil (BRAC notwithstanding).

The only US presence in the world is the Navy at sea conducting training/combined exercises, patrolling, etc., and maybe the AF doing the same. How does the world now view the US? What happens to US credibility? What effect does this have on US foreign policy strategy? How has US military strategy now changed? How much will it cost to significantly increase strategic airlift capacity to get more troops and equipment to parts of the world in the event US military action is warranted? Or does the US simply give up its commitments abroad?

Well, a deal has been reached, and Obama is the biggest PU$$Y of all time. He should end up on the homepage of every porn site on the internet. GREAT BIG HUGE PU$$Y. He will not get my vote, even if he runs against Bachmann.

Thats funny. According to CNN, republicans are a divided house and can't get along but democrats are united.

2012 will be like the last election reversed. You have a strongly hated incumbent who's own base is deeply unhappy and unmotivated and a strongly motivated center and right that wants big government politicians out.

The novelty of electing the first black president is over and the blacks that came out in droves for Obama now realize that they still have to pay their bills and mortgage so they're unmotivated.

The large "independent" block of voters quickly awoke from Obama's bullchit campaign rhetoric when he hijacked the economy and health care system. They killed the democrats in the last election and will do the same in 2012.

Hopefully the John McCains et al will join Obama in the private sector in about a year.

Personally I can't understand why Republicans hate him so much. All you have to do is shed a little tear and he bends over and takes it in the ass like a good bitch.

Government is not so simple. The Tea Party is another in a long line of intractable single-issue political movements. Nothing else matters but their single issue. The Republicans seem especially drawn to them. The religious right moved the GOP center in the Clinton era and the protect-the-fortunes-of-the-wealthy neo-cons in the Bush era. Now it is the Tea party.

The tea party's mission is a balanced budget amendment and to pay down the debt.[/quote]Obviously a balanced budget cannot pay down the national debt! All it can do is pay the current expenses. To pay down the debt, we must post tax surpluses as we did in the prosperous 1990's. To pay down the debt we must cut expenses and reverse the Bush tax cuts until we can post enough surplus to pay down the debt. THEN we can have a balanced budget. You know the democrats proposed this during the Bush administration calling it "Pay as we go" and the GOP shot it down.

No more than the Republicans enhancing the wealth of big business and the very rich in order to buy influence and votes.

Yes you will, unless you want the republicans back in office. The fire is worse than the hot frying pan.

What would be the point of voting for him in Louisiana anyway? It's a red state. You can't win by popular vote in America. Would just be a waste of gas going to the polls.

Could Obama veto this, and use the 14th Amendment? He would save some face with the left if he did this.

Of course a balance budget will result in paying down the debt. If no new debt is issued debt will be retired and eventually eliminated. Also through economic growth more tax revenue will be generated which can be appropriated to paying down the debt.

You know the Democrats had control of both houses and the White House, and instead of re-implementing Paygo they went on a massive spending spree, the likes of which had never been seen, and cut taxes.

Be a bit more honest in your critiques of these parties. There is not one terrible thing that Republicans have done that can't be matched by a terrible thing Democrats have done.

Those republicans that shot down "pay as we go" should be out. Any politician not serious about cutting government spending should find a new job. It doesn't matter if it's republican of democrat, quit the spending and borrowing or hit the road.
