    Nope, just reckless spending.

    Revenues are through the roof and the United States and a good half of Americans pay no federal taxes.

    How anyone still continues to want to send these corrupt politicians more money so they can fatten the pockets of their friends is beyond me.

    And let me tell you, stopping bad legislation IS governing my friend. You just don't like it right now because it doesn't fit your agenda but a very large portion of Americans are very happy that we finally have some elected officials with principles and are doing their best to stop the bleeding of this nation.

    These cuts in the Boehner and democrats plans are pure bull****. They use Washington math (lying) and are based on future growth projections, not real cuts. They lie and say that because they are cutting government growth projections from 7% to 3% that they are "cuts".

    If Americans and American businesses conducted themselves the way Washington does, we'd go to jail.

    You say the ultra rich are your enemy? I understand you're envious, we'd all like to be ultra rich. That pretty much explains your positions. You fall into the typical democrat victim class. If the ultra rich weren't so rich and taxed more, you'd be a millionaire right?

    Now, Obama's years aren't on there, but even if it was, how could anyone look at this and think that republicans are serious about spending? They aren't. It's just going to be a reallocation of funds, from social programs to the pockets of CEO's and billionaires.

    Here is a nice web site also.

    U.S. Federal Deficits, Presidents, and Congress

    I'd be even willing to go through another 8 years of hell the GOP just to say I told you so.

    As it stands right now neither the Repbublican plan nor the Democratic plan will preserve our AAA rating because neither is a long-term plan to bring down the deficit. Such a plan will require a minimum of $4 trillion in cuts over the next 10 years. Ryan's plan which called for over $6 trillion in cuts over 10 years is the only one I have seen that does that. President Obama had a plan that cut $4 trillion but he wanted to raise taxes - something you don't want to do with the economy as soft as it is. Hopefully the final product that comes out of Congress will include over $4 trillion in cuts. If not, it could cost us a lot more to borrow money, the stock market will take a hit and hiring could become slow down even further than what it is now. The one good thing about the Republican plan is that it could provide a basis for a compromise plan that would increase cuts and extend the deadline for a year rather than six months. I don't see President Obama's desire to extend the deadline by 18 months as getting through Congress.

    Exactly my point. Right gets war, left gets entitlements. Compromise that creates spending beyond one's means.

    Compromise = problem.

    Partisan is based on belonging to a party. I'm not in lock-step with the democratic party just because I have a position that is left of center. I'm just against most of what the GOP is doing right now.

    It definitely makes me not a liberal, though. There are absolutely people to the left of me politically, lots of them. martin criticizes me constantly for my moderate views not being sufficiently extreme.

    In any case, I can call myself a Whig for all it matters. People only bring up my political position when they are pissed because I rained on their parade and they want to change the subject
