Very, very poor ones. My ass, it is about please the Tea Party. Refusal to compromise is not a virtue in a politician. It leads to impasses.
The socialist are running scared right now. Their endless flow of other people's money is about to dry up and now they are screaming "The sky is falling! The sky is falling!"
No chief just the opposite because you just made my point for me. (Nice job of sliding in the "I like him better than obama" bit. Like any of us actually believe that.) The point being everything that you despise dubya for had the full support of all those libs you love so openly. Thanks for playing amigo.
Said another way, it's about admitting there is a (spending/debt) problem and finally doing something about it.
that sentence was in repsone to yours that the republicans were doing this to please a very small group. my point is that it doesnt matter who they are pleasing. the principles matter. if one party was nazi would you think it good to compromise with them? maybe kill half as many jews as they wanted? again, it is about principles. an impasse is good if it prevents bad legislation. you seem to have this very stupid idea in your head that everyone is half right and all we need to do i camp in the middle. the problem is that some folks are 100% wrong and need to be completely blocked and ignored. again, you simply need principles. and you need to stop acting like it is always good for the government to get something, anything done.
If they can't come up with a solution and we lose our AAA rating, both parties and the president will share the blame. I still belive they will not let that happen and a bipartisan bill will be produced. But I am beginning to be concerned. While the G6 bill was not perfect by a long shot, I thought it offered a glimmer of hope.
