today in 1913, the highest temperature ever recorded in the US happened in death valley. 134 degrees.
I have seen 124 in Death Valley. I have also seen snow there as well. Not on the travlers hotlist. Outside the country I have seen 128 at the port in Riyad, in the shade by lunch. Drinking water was 102. What a sh!thole.
On hot summer days, the birds in Death Valley walk around with their tongues out, begging for water while the park rangers warn guests against giving anything to the wild life. Death Valley in the summer is actually quite beautiful if you can find a spot of shade in the sand dunes and slow down to appreciate what turns out to be teaming life. Although, I sure wouldn’t want to live there. Let's talk about the "Death Valley" in BR. What are your more memorable happenings? Years ago, we were up 21-0 against Kentucky and right before the half, Kentucky ran back an interception to make it 21-7. My friend said, "Good, that may make the second half more interesting" and to that, a sweet old lady sitting right behind us proceeded to clobber my friend with her walking stick to the cheers of those around us.
But but. What about Global Warming.... that doesnt make sense if wouldnt it make sense that each year is hotter then the previous. 1913 was almost a century ago. Where is Algore. Best moment in Tiger Stadium, there are many but I would have to say the UT game right after Katrina, yeh the ending was horrible but after the previous couple of weeks, I cannot think of a time where the lights of Tiger Stadium made me happier...
YES DUDE! i was thinking about this the other day. that was one HELL of a comeback by the vols, but damn near 90% of that game was just MAGICAL!
speaking of hot that tennessee game was the hottest game i have ever been to. it was deathly still in the stadium.
Last year's 10 AM outing against App. State was the hottest I've seen in Death Valley. The Oregon State game in '04 was pretty hot too, but at least it rained a bit and cooled it down.
