Question....Has anyone heard of a team refusing to play on TV? Hypothetically speaking, could LSU refuse to play in day games and opt for no TV to play at night at home? I know it wouldn't happen...just curious...can you do it?

I know Ive come on here and complained a lot. But no way would I ever boo the team or leave too early in the game like many fans have. Thats just classless IMO. LSU can be the best or one of the worse places to play. Complaining and booing are two totally different things.

Right. Changes in coordinators (hopefully; certainly not a done deal) and more night games should restore the electricity we are accustomed to and that give Death Valley it's lore.

Things are much different now though. If we're winning, and if we're a player in the BCS, then the TV executives would have no other choice than to bow to our demand that we play home games at night. If one or two games per year are not televised, that may have otherwise been,...so be it...at least we would have put ourselves in the best position to win the games.

I don't understand our difficulty in morning and afternoon games. Lots of teams play nothing but and do fine. However, the numbers do not lie...we do not play nearly as well while the sun is still up.

Fans would eat it up...everyone likes the guy that bucks the evil powers that be...and the ones that will complain about not being able to see the Tigers play on TV as often will get over it after a few big wins.

Success would bring in more money. BCS payouts are huge and could potentially offset any loss of revenue from having less televised games.

We could expand Tiger Stadium again to make room for even more fans (moderately priced tickets would be necessary).

As demonstrated after the '03 and '07 seasons..LSU makes huge profits from merchandise sales and another championship or two would only increase those profits.

There are maybe ten teams in the country that have the resources to play for a championship year after year...and we're one of them. We have bargaining capital (hard earned) and should use it.

Of course...I'm just thinking out loud. This year's "home" schedule flat out sucked. Big games deserve big build ups and big tailgating....it's just how it's supposed to be. :hihi:

    Which year...?

Edit: Hell...it doesn't matter the year..they owned us in the 70's...home and away. Only one win against 'bama that decade and it was in on the road. The '79 game in BR was close...0-3 'bama.

I am sure it was '79 but not sure if it was a Bamma Game......back in the 70's LSU was lucky to play two ( Including the post season) games on TV each year and Bamma was always one of them.........
