I think he was just making a point that Shreveport is closer to Dallas and therefore more likely you will see a lot more Cowboy fans than Saints. But BigKat80 I kinda of agree with what you are saying I am not on this board for Saints fans "although I am a Saints fan" I am on this board and only care about LSU that is why there is only one team on my teams page that is LSU "3 times." But it does suck losing a Louisiana player to out of state schools especially players that LSU definitely wanted!!!!

Let me solve the Shreveport Saints/Cowboys controversy. I've lived here practically my entire life. There are a lot of Cowboy fans in Shreveport. There are even more Saints fans. The local Fox affiliate always tries to show Cowboy games over Saints game with the excuse that most Shreveporters want to watch the Cowboys. Horse puckey. In recent years, in response to outraged Saints fans, they put it to a vote - they will show the game that the fans vote to see. The Saints win every time- by a substantial margin. The Saints own Shreveport and so does LSU.

Shreveport is indeed a great LSU city. Keep in mind, long before the Saints came along, Dallas was the only game in town, so to speak.

My problem lies with the disloyalty to commitment we see nowadays with kids and grownups, too, for that matter.

I am not happy with a kid who goes outside the state but can understand it when they make a commitment early on and stick with it.

I really have a problem with the so-called 'street agent' mentality some high school coaches have and by golly, doubt me if you wish, it's real and it happens.

Orangebloods.com - Signing Day switch for Torshiro Davis

Gotta love how his coach speaks for him the entire article. Not a single quote from Torshiro.

My favorite quote of all from his head coach:

"He became his own man. He didn't let anyone make the decision for him," coach Holmes said.

    Yeah right, coach.

Woodlawn HS football coach arrested for slapping student

A coach at Woodlawn Leadership Academy was arrested Thursday morning for slapping a student across the face.

DeCarlos Holmes, 35, was issued a misdemeanor summons for simple battery after meeting with Det. Jackie Winston at the Caddo Sheriff's Criminal Investigations Division.

According to information from the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office, the incident took place in the school gym on November 1st. The 16-year-old victim, Christopher Allen told deputies that he and another boy were paddled by the coach after he found them in the hallway. After being paddled, the coach asked the victim if he had a problem. When the boy refused to answer, he said the coach struck him across the face, which was witnessed by other adults.

Caddo Parish Schools confirm that Holmes was placed on administrative leave with pay on November 4th, pending an internal investigation.

"I just feel like this should not have happened. First, I would never expect a teacher to put his hands on me.They are their to protect us, and not hit us," said Christopher Allen.

Allen is now asking the school board to approve a hardship transfer after days of, what he describes as, harassing comments from fellow students.

"I don't feel comfortable at this school after what happened. I want to go to another school," said Allen.

Attorney Craig Smith is representing DeCarlos Holmes. His office released the following statement about their case.

"No battery was committed. Coach Holmes acted in self defense to the student's aggression. The student came at the coach aggressively, and the coach acted in self defense."
