Shea Dixon tweets the negotiations are still underway. It may be simply that there is language in his Saints contract that needs to be satisfied and no blocking at all. I'm being optimistic here.
Can't argue with that, but it would be wise of Payton to make that stipulation or "gentlemen's agreement" before letting an assistant move around the state. Kind of petty if you ask me.
Maybe it’s Mickey Loomis and not Sean Payton who is the person holding up the deal. As GM he may be defending the contract to guard against any future situations.
