True. We often get into 3rd and 12 just to toy with them and when they are expecting a 10+ yard pass, BOOM, we dump it off for a 2 yard gain because around here we know how to punt! Better to give our punter some room than go for the 1st down.

E clearly gave him the option. For whatever reason. You dont have to have every route 12 yards. Saints often put a guy in space within striking distance. The odds are much greater when, you know, you are closer to your target....
Oh I see E should have said throw and interception instead of throwing a complete pass to a guy who maybe breaks a tackle or the defender falls down and makes that 12 yds. Or maybe The QB panicked and dumped it too early. What do you think?
