Only half the battle. The other half needs the off-season to regroup.

:geaux::crystal::helmet: I'm glad to hear this news, will just hope it becomse official soon. Based on all that stats that have been posted, Koenning seems to be the better choice over Chavis although I believe he (Chavis) would have done a good job as well. Whatever it takes to get LSU back to having a smash mouth, elite defense. :geauxtige:champs::LSU231:

LSU will definitely have an offense under Crowton to win national championships in the coming years. This DC hire is paramount in deciding if LSU is actually going to be able to compete for one, however.

:geaux::crystal::helmet: Just went to the ESPN's site and there's all kinds of articles talking about coaching/coordinator/assistant coach changes, extensions, etc. but nothing on LSU. Kind of frustrating. I realize these things can't be done in an hour or so, but it seems like LSU does these things much differently than many other schools. Lots of secrecy, intrigue, etc. Much more than necessary in my opinion. Anyone agree with that or is it just me? :geauxtige:champs::LSU231:

Miles is doing it his way. He wants to see his guys get new jobs, if they are being let go, and I for one commend him for that. Beyond being a great head coach at LSU, he is a great man and someone we should all be proud of. Or at least anyone with any sense.

And to an extent I agree completely... but there's no harm or foul, if these two are out the door and not going to be back, to go ahead and get the DC issue out of the way by atleast agreeing to terms with someone to lock them up, all while helping these guys move on. I'm just afraid the longer they drag the issue out of finding these 2 work somewhere, the best candidates are going to be taken by someone else... forcing us to keep what we currently have or force us into taking a very piss poor DC we never really wanted to fill the immediate need.
