Yeah! I also think that it is comical of everyone assuming Miles is going to make a change.. If he does, it will be not his personal desire too. He would much rather just make an "attitude" change. I also hope that whoever the university calls, will tell Miles that for that person to come here, he wants total control of the defense and hire his own assistants. There is no way you bring a top DC here and make him retain Peveto, Mallory, or force him to hire a certain D-Line coach. I want the new DC to bring his system, his philosophy and his own coaches... Our current guys have to go...

Someone told me in August he is more of the on campus GM, but does his job well. Only so many guys can hit the road and that wasn't his role for the most part. I am assuming his role will be similar to Pelini's since he isnt exactly welcomed in a lot of gulf coast high schools. ;)

Other than some information a dude told me five months ago about the guy I dont know much outside of what I have seen. I think out of the available guys he is a good hire. Certainly better than some of the other names floating around.

well after talking to a clemson guy and a tenn guy, i like chavis just a little bit better than koenning.

but a florida fan whose opinion i really respect said that he didn't think koenning was right for LSU and that he's happy chavis may leave the SEC. that made me want chavis more.

quite understandable. and as childish of a theory as it sounds, thats actually a good way to judge a guy...or at least get a feel for him.

That's my understanding of the situation.

But others have chimed in he is a fantastic recruiter.

Guess we will have a chance to find out.

LSU fans didn't seem to be too upset when Jimbo and Bo left but so far, FSU and Nebraska appear to be pleased. Perhaps we will be too.

ESPN is now reporting that Chris Cosh, currently the Maryland DC, will return to Kansas State, where he coached LBs in 04-05, as the next DC under Bill Snyder.

So that should cement the hiring of Koenning to LSU. I believe Koenning was only holding out for the LSU job, otherwise would have taken the Kansas State job.

So I guess it's time to rejoice in the streets.

    Malleveto is NO MORE!

That's good news about Chris Cosh going to Kansas State to be their DC. The Washington Post is reporting the same thing:

Chris Cosh, Maryland’s third-year defensive coordinator, will leave to become Kansas State’s defensive coordinator and assistant head coach, according to his wife, Mary Cosh. A school official said Cosh will not coach in Maryland’s bowl game.
